Artist in residence

Every summer since 2017 Långrådna Kultur nominate an artist, singer/musician/dancer/visual or performance artist, for an Artist in Residence Scholarship.

We offer accommodation for the artist for 7 days, to use for creativity away from every day life.

Are you an artist or practitioner of culture? Are you seeking peace and quiet time to spend being creative? Then apply for this scholarship!

Application:
Send us a letter explaining what you want to do with your own week here. Who you are and what your occupation is. Use your imagination and discuss openlywhat you need to make the best of your week. Please send samples of your work. You do not have too be established yet.

We attach great importance to your story and your commitment to your application, so take some time to express yourself.

What do you get from this scholarship:
We offer one week stay, room and board, and if you wish you are more then welcome to eat with us. If you have a special diet then you have access to your own kitchen. We think artists sometimes need some time off every day life (no cocking, no cleaning, no washing up, no worries..) to get time to find new creativity or just breathe, rest and get new inspiration for further work.

Accommodation:
You have your own floor in our 19th century house with your own bathroom and kitchen. Around the house is a garden filled with flowers, vegetables and trees. The house is close to the forests and beautiful nature. For more information contact us by email or visit us at our facebook page.

Apply before the 30th of April!

Send application to: info@kajsanorrby.se

Being artist in residence at Långrådna Culture Centre gave me the space and time to explore my writing and creative ideas in a beautiful space surrounded by the Swedish countryside.
Kajsa and Emil are wonderful, welcoming hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Kajsa made incredibly tasty meals all week, leaving me free to focus on my writing and although there was no pressure to share meal times together, they were really great company too.
— Rowan Godel
The ethos of this residency gave me the freedom to explore what I felt I needed to explore in my art practice, without expectation to ‘produce’. I had time and space to read, write, create, and hear my own thoughts (!) without everyday distractions and outside pressures. I had a wonderfully nurturing experience as resident artist at the Långrådna Centre and came away re-energised and inspired.
